    SHORT TERM FORECAST

    WFMZ-TV 69News Weather (17)

    TONIGHT:Mostly clear. Low: 58

TONIGHT:Mostly sunny with a few clouds. Here comes the heat! High: 89

TOMORROW:Mostly clear and warm. Low: 64.

    FORECAST SUMMARY

Hope dad gets to enjoy this beautiful Fathers’ Day this year! High pressure over the region will keep most of the clouds and all of the rain away this week. Temperatures have moderated from where they were late last week and the humidity has come crashing down as well. Enjoy this while you can because starting Monday, both the heat and the humidity start to crank right back up! In fact, Monday will be the coolest day of the work week with highs just shy of 90°, but we will be over 90° for the rest of the week. Dew points will be in the low to mid 60s this week as well, so it won’t be too humid but any humidity will make the heat that much more unbearable and drive the heat index close to 100 degrees at times. The high pressure in place over this weekend slides to the east shifting the winds from the south, which will be responsible for all of the heat by transporting in hot air from the south. It will also keep the clouds and rain away, with no thunderstorms in sight to cool you off through at least Friday. Right now, it looks like that relief will arrive late next weekend and early next week with finally some possible t-storm chances to start the new week.

    DETAILED FORECAST

    TONIGHT

Becoming mostly clear and still comfortable. Lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. Muggy nights lie ahead, so enjoy the comfort.

    MONDAY

A mix of sun and clouds during the day with highs in just shy of 90 degrees. It turns hotter the rest of the week.

    TUESDAY TO SATURDAY

The heat cranks up big time! Skies will be mostly sunny with high temperatures in at least the mid 90s for the rest of the week and heat indices (what it feels like) in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees at times. Record highs may be challenged, and this will be a long duration heat wave, especially for this early in the season.
