After finding the Gyro Module, Greez will send you into the Forest Array on Koboh to learn more about Tanalorr. This walkthrough will provide a complete step-by-step guide on reaching the Forest Array -- which is one of the longest sections in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor -- as well as tips for taking down your first major boss on Koboh.

Open Forest Gate

Head out of Pyloon’s Saloon toward the ranch area of Rambler’s Reach Outpost (where you see a large blue barn). Your goal is the gate you can see marked in the screenshot above.

Work your way toward the gate, and just past the ranch, you’ll spot some cliffs where you can wall run and reach higher ground. On your way, you’ll have to fight a couple of B1 Droids and a Bedlam Raider.

At the top, you’ll hit the Swindler’s Wash Meditation Point. It’s positioned at a fork in the road between a broken bridge on your right and a path upward on your left.

Take the path on your left until you reach a deadend. Look down toward the stream to spot a Bilemaw.

The Bilemaw isn’t technically a boss, but at this point in the game, it can feel like one. In addition to an unblockable front slam, the enemy has a blockable ground pound and back kick. It will also throw its head around and occasionally pause and shoot bile out of its mouth.

The best strategy is to continue dodging and trying to get in a swipe or two between attacks. The Bilemaw is slow, so you can get in a swipe between attacks safely. Look out for when the Bilemaw shoots out bile too and circle around the back to deal a large chunk of its health.

Once it’s down, go under the waterfall to spot a wall you can run up. Jump up it to reach the other side of the gap and follow the path back toward the other side of the broken bridge.

Continue toward the end of the path and be on the look out for a patrol of B1 Droids. At the end, climb up the wall and turn around to face the Forest Gate.

Grab the shortcut back to the Meditation Point before heading toward the gate. There are a couple of Bedlam Raiders guarding the gate. If you’re having trouble taking them out, use Confuse on one to make the fight a bit easier.

Head up to the gate and interact with it to open your path to the Forest Array.

Reach the Forest Array

Head through the gate and up the path. At the top, there are some thick vines cutting your path. Pull out your lightsaber and swipe through them to proceed.

On the other side is the Basalt Rift, where you’ll immediately spot a zipline BD-1 can activate. The only problem is that a rock sticking out of the wall blocks the zipline from connecting.

advertisem*nt

Use the wall to the left of the zipline point to run under a waterfall. Follow the rock across to where your obstacle is sticking out and use your Force Push to get it out of the way. Activate the zipline (you can do so without doubling back) and use it to get across the gap.

You’ll seemingly hit a deadend with the only path forward being a small stream Cal will immediately slide down. Instead of taking it head-on, run and bounce between the walls to get past the slope. At the top, there’s a grapple point to proceed, so be ready to grab it.

Push through the gap in the wall at the end of the stream. On the other side, take the path down on your left. At the end, jump down to the platform below, then use the vines and your grapple to work your way up.

At the top, continue forward until you spot the Basalt Rift Meditation Point. Rest up before continuing forward.

Past the Meditation Point, follow the path on the right where you’ll see two B1 Droids fighting a Scout Trooper and Stormtrooper. You can let them duke it out or hop in and take them out yourself; it’s up to you.

On the platform where you took out the enemies, you’ll find two paths down into a cave. The right path is blocked, so take the left path, using your grapple to get ahold of some vines and work your way down.

advertisem*nt

At the bottom, there’s a small patrol of two Scout Troopers and a Stormtrooper. Hop down and take them out.

Continue on the path through the cave, and about halfway through, you’ll run into another pair of Scout Troopers. Just past them is a shortcut you can activate back to the Meditation Point if you need to rest.

Just beyond where you activate the zipline, there’s a stream downward. Take it down (make sure to jump at the end) to land in an arena with two Stormtroopers and a Bilemaw. Thankfully, the Bilemaw will distract and take care of the Stormtroopers.

With the Bilemaw down, look to your right to spot a rock formation you can extend with your Force Pull. Jump onto it once it’s extended and look left to find another rock formation you can extend.

Jump up and activate another one to your left. This one will slowly move back into the wall, so quickly jump up to it and use the wall at the top to run across and reach a set of vines. Follow the vines around to climb out of the cave, shortly passing through Toa’s campsite.

Beyond the campsite, there’s a large rock you can cut down with your lightsaber, creating a shortcut back to the Meditation Point.

advertisem*nt

Follow the path around, using the metal arch as a guide. At the end of the path is a set of vines you can climb, but ignore them for now. Instead, follow the path downward on your right.

Hop off at the bottom and ambush the patrol of two Scout Troopers and two Stormtroopers below.

Continue down the hill, and you’ll spot a Bilemaw sleeping at the bottom. Unfortunately, you can’t sneak your way past, so try to get in a few solid swipes before the Bilemaw wakes up fully.

With the Bilemaw down, look to the left of the area to spot a rock formation you can use your Force Pull to yank out. Pull it out, jump up, and look at the other wall to spot another one. Jump across and use the wall to run over. Both of these rock formations will slowly fall back into the wall, so try to move quickly.

Head down the linear path at the top, where you’ll be forced to walk through some blue dust. Cal will say it doesn’t look safe, and he’s onto something; it’s not. This first batch won’t hurt you, but the next section is filled with the stuff and you’ll want to avoid it.

Down the path, you’ll come upon a sea of blue dust. Don’t jump down into it or it will damage you. This is a bit of a “the floor is lava” section, so circle around the damaging dust with the path on the right, using the vines to climb up and the blue metal bar to get across.

advertisem*nt

The raised platform you land on also has blue dust, but the outside edge is safe. Continue around it and jump on the platform on your left.

Walk out on the pipe connected to this platform and use the wall to stay above the blue dust and reach safe ground. On the other end, you’ll land in the Forest Array.

Jump down and rest at the Meditation Point. The path in front of you is blocked by a Koboh Barrier. Instead, look left from the Meditation Point and use your Force Push to knock down a metal bridge, giving you a path into the Forest Array.

Follow this path, making sure to stay on the metal pipes and platforms and avoid falling to the ground caked in blue dust below. On the final bridge you can reach, use your Force Pull to give you another path to jump to.

Continue forward, again avoiding dropping to the ground. At the end, jump onto the climbing wall in front of you and use the metal bar to work your way around. The bar will break about midway through, but that allows you to reach the climbing wall you can spot at the end of the path.

Climb up at the end of the wall and turn around to spot a shortcut back to the Meditation Point.

advertisem*nt

To the right of the shortcut path, you can hop down a few steps while staying above the blue dust.

At the bottom, you’ll reach a door that’s locked from the other side. Instead, use the climbing all and work your way across the gap.

About halfway through climbing over, a large beast will knock you down into the blue dust. Quickly use the climbing in front of you where you land to get to a safe spot.

Continue forward and use the wall on the other side of the path to run across and clear another gap.

Head into the room on the other side with several dead creatures laying inside. One of them is alive, so have your lightsaber ready to keep yourself safe.

Don’t put your lightsaber away yet. Past the path out of this room, a Mogu will jump down and attack you. The Mogu has aggressive grab attacks that can slam you on the ground. Try to focus on dodging over parrying, and use the space to your advantage. You have a lot of room in this area to create distance.

If you’re pinned down, try to complete the quick time event. If you do it fast enough, you’ll cut off the Mogu’s arm.

advertisem*nt

With the Mogu down, continue over the bridge and use the climbing wall at the end. Use it to work your way around the edge of the platform the Mogu broke down.

At the top, look down to spot an Orb and Orb Coupler. The mechanic in the Chamber of Duality puzzle applies here, too. Jump down and grab the Orb with your Force Pull and place it in the Orb Coupler.

This will create a beam that melts the Koboh Barrier locking you in, opening up a path back to the Meditation Point. It will also melt the Koboh Barrier blocking the path on the opposite side of the Meditation Point, which is where you need to head next.

In this area, there’s blue dust around the floor, but the Orb beam creates a safe path through it. Jump up on the raised platform in the middle of the room.

Although the Orb beam can melt Koboh Barriers, it won’t damage Cal, so don’t worry if you walk into it!

Look to your right on the raised platform and use the pole to jump up to some platforms out of the room.

advertisem*nt

At the end, you can cut down a rope to create a shortcut back to the Meditation Point.

Where you land, jump down to the left of the platform onto the ground. There isn’t any blue dust here, so you’re safe.

A Gunner will start shooting at you from across a gap. Ignore them for now and head up the wooded path on your right instead.

At the end, you’ll see a Scout Trooper taking a break on a bridge, along with several orange nodes in the sky (you can’t use them quite yet. Leave them alone or clear them out, it’s up to you, but when you’re done, turn around and hop down to a ledge below.

At the bottom, squeeze through the gap in the wall to enter the Bilemaw Den. There’s a Meditation Point here, but before using it, grab the upgrade on your right. This allows you to use your Confuse ability on larger creatures, such as the Bilemaw.

Rest at the Meditation Point and continue up the hill. At the top is a large group of Stormtroopers examining a sleeping Bilemaw. Use your Confuse ability on the sleeping Bilemaw to wake it up and attack the troops.

Remember that the Confuse ability eventually falls off, and if there are no enemies to attack, the confused enemy will attack you. You still need to take down the Bilemaw separately.

advertisem*nt

Follow the linear path through the camp, keeping left. At the end, walk out on the branch hanging over the fall below, dropping down to climb across.

At the end of the branch, climb up and jump to the vines above. Follow them around to scale the side of the cliff, climbing up at the end to reach solid ground.

At the top, hop down and use the vines on the wall on the opposite wall to climb up another ledge.

A cutscene will trigger at the top, and after, you’ll unlock the ability to tame a Relter. Jump up and grab onto its legs after you tame it to ride it over the valley. At the end, aim for the climbing wall to get back to the main area of the Forest Array.

You’ll land near the room where the Gunner was firing at you earlier. Circle around and take out the Gunner before heading into the room.

Inside, you’ll find two Stormtroopers and a Scout Trooper, along with a Gunner shooting you from above. Take them out, then use the wall to run up to the ledge above.

advertisem*nt

Follow the ledge around and use the Relter waiting to ride your way into the center of the Forest Array. There’s a Scout Trooper where you land, so be ready to take them out.

Stay near the Orb beam and use your Force Push on the lever to rotate the beam around the arena. The first spot it lands opens the path ahead of the Meditation Point that was blocked before. Head through if you need to rest, but otherwise, activate the lever with Force Push a second time.

This creates a path to the large bird that knocked you down earlier, freeing it from the Koboh Barrier. The Orb beam conveniently ends at the climbing wall you used earlier in the mission, so head toward it and work your way across free of interruptions.

At the end, hop down and follow the stairs up on the small platform you land on. Beyond them is another Relter you can ride down into a group of about half a dozen Stormtroopers.

There’s a Bilemaw sleeping just below the ramp up to the Stormtroopers. You can avoid it, or you can use your Confuse ability on it to make quick work of the patrol.

Head up the metal ramp, and use the door on your right to open a shortcut back to the Meditation Point. If you’re heading back, make sure to rotate the Orb beam to create a safe pathway through the blue dust.

Through the shortcut door, grab the Orb sitting in the center of the Forest Array and turn around, carrying it with you along the way.

advertisem*nt

There’s a gap between you and the stairs you need to reach, but you can quickly Force Push the Orb over the gap and jump after it, using your Force Pull to pull it back in before it disappears.

Walk it up the stairs and place it in the Orb Coupler up top to create a bridge across. Follow it across to reach the platform in the middle.

There’s another bridge you need to build here. Stay on the platform you’re on, but turn around and grab the Orb from the original Coupler you used. AIm it at the other side of the bridge where you can see a Coupler. You’ll know it’s lined up correctly when the aiming path glows purple.

Head over the last bridge and stand on the elevator on the other side to ride your way up. You’ll reach the Rehabilitation Wing, which has its own Meditation Point. Rest up before pushing forward; you’re about to fight a boss.

Before that, head up the stairs past the Meditation Point and activate the node inside to power up the Forest Array. Follow the path downward after activating the node, and when you reach the bottom, you’ll trigger a cutscene.

Move Through Tanalorr

advertisem*nt

The next section sends you through a dream-like sequence through Tanalorr. The path here is linear, and it’s broken up into several short, in-game cutscenes.

Continue walking forward, and the screen will fade white to trigger a cutscene. You’re in control of Cal here, but if you walk outside the range of the dialogue, you’ll be sent back. Wait for each set of dialogue to finish before exploring, and after a few steps, you’ll be teleported into the next.

At the end, you’ll be sent back to reality and brought into an arena with Dagan Gera, the boss for this area of the game.

How to Defeat Dagan Gera

Dagan Gera wields a lightsaber and only has one arm, but don’t underestimate him. He’s one of the tougher bosses in the game, especially this early on.

Dagan Gera - Phase 1

Dagan Gera will start by throwing out his lightsaber, which you can avoid or block. We recommend using your Dual Blade stance here and try to stay close to Dagan Gera for the fight. Your goal is to break his stun gauge to get in damage. The best way to do this is to alternate between a couple of attacks and a couple of parries, dancing back and forth to whittle his stun gauge down.

You can’t stay close forever, though. Dagan Gera has an unblockable swing attack where he’ll lunge forward and sweep with his lightsaber. Try to dodge around instead of dodging backward when Dagan Gera does this attack. It will track you, and it has a lot of range.

advertisem*nt

If you have any distance between the boss, he’ll ominously walk toward you. This is a good chance to use your Force Push ability. Dagan Gera will block it, but it does about decent damage to his stun gauge. You can get a few Force Pushes in before he reaches you, as well.

In addition to the attacks above, Dagan Gera will also use Force Push to push you back occasionally. Thankfully, it doesn’t do any damage. He’ll also lunge forward with a swiping attack, but you can parry it if your timing is right.

Dagan Gera - Phase 2

Once the boss is down to around half health, you’ll enter a quick time event and quick press Square (or X on an Xbox controller) to break his block.

This does not count as a checkpoint. If you die at any point during the fight, you’ll respawn at the last Meditation Point you rested at, so make sure to conserve your Stims!

The second phase is similar to the first, but Dagan Gera is more aggressive. In addition, he’ll use an unblockable slam attack. This is particularly devastating because it can come right after his unblockable sweeping attack, so look out for it.

You’ll want to play more defensive here. A good chance to get in a few hits is after Dagan Gera does his sweeping lunge attack. You can also press Triangle (or Y or an Xbox controller) to automatically parry some attacks with the Dual Blade stance.

You can’t actually defeat Dagan Gera here. After he gets down to about a tenth of his health, a cutscene will trigger, and he’ll escape.

Once you regain control of Cal, pick up the Health Essence just behind you.

advertisem*nt

Head outside, and use the pipe on your left to work your way around the top of the Forest Array. Take the zipline down at the end to reach a Relter that will take you away from the Forest Array.

Ride it through the forest, and you’ll land at the Nekko Pools Meditation Point.

Check on the Mantis

Unfortunately, you can’t just fast travel back to the Mantis. You’ll have to work your way back Use the walls to the left of the Meditation Point to run up a new path.

At the end of the walls, grapple to the vines and follow them around the side of the cliff. Drop down at the end and slide down the hill. Once you get your footing, head in the cave on your left.

You’ll unlock the Nekko Mount inside. Nekkos can walk up streams that Cal will slide down, which is the key to getting back to the Mantis.

advertisem*nt

Backtrack to the Meditation Point and take the path to the right of it to head toward Rambler’s Reach Outpost.

Follow the path up until you reach a blue door. The Nekko can jump, and then you can jump off the mount to reach a higher spot. Do that in front of the door to climb over the wall and unlock the door from the other side.

Jump back on the Nekko and continue into the Bygone Settlement. Stay on the path path here, and at the end, you’ll see the Mantis speed by, back in action.

Continue toward the Mantis, and talk to Zee on the launch pad when you reach it. You’ll be sent to the next planet of the game, Jedha.

At this point you unlock the Rooftop Garden, along with more Rumors around Koboh, so it’s a great time to pause and explore!

When you're ready, it's time to head to Jedha to Rendezvous with Cere's Contact.
